The purpose of this study was to analyze the implementation and legal consequences of social and environmental responsibility for industrial forest plantation companies in Riau based on Law No. 40 of 2007 concerning Limited Liability Companies. The method used is a sociological legal research. Based on the results of the research, it is known that the implementation of social and environmental responsibility for industrial forest plantation companies in Riau based on Law No. 40 of 2007 concerning Limited Liability Companies that has not been going well, because the obligations have not been fully carried out by industrial forest plantation companies in Riau. Greater demands occur especially for companies whose business operations are closely related to the exploration of natural resources, which are in direct and indirect contact with environmental pollution and exploitation on a daily basis. The legal consequence is that a company can be sued if it does not carry out its social and environmental obligations. Corporate social responsibility is emphasized on the business commitment to contribute to sustainable economic development, not only for the company's employees, but also for the local community and the general public.
