Fish occupy various forms of aquatic ecosystems such as marine, brackish
and freshwater. Around 43% from the total number of all fish species, occupying
freshwater. Reservoir constructions cause alteration of topography and hydrology of
natural aquatic. Topographical altaration of relate to the diversity of species. Cirata
Reservoir is the main reservoirs in Indonesia, formed from the damming of the Citarum
River. The number of indigenous fish species in the Citarum river before damming more
than 20 species. The study found 16 fish species, with nine indigenous species, are;
Barbonymus balleroides, Rasbora argyrotaenia, Osteochilus vittatus, Mystacoleucus
marginatus, Hampala macrolepidota, Hemibagrus nemurus, Mystus nigriceps, Oxyleotris
marmorata, Parambasis siamensis, as well as seven non-indigenous species are;
Cyprinus carpio, Oreochromis niloticus, Hemichromis elongatus, Amphilopus citrinellus,
Chanos chanos, Colossoma macropomum, Hypostomus plecostomus. The indigenous fish
species that not found in the previous study is Barbonymus gonionotus, Puntius binotatus,
and Chana striata.
