Maleo bird (Macrocephalon maleo) is one of the endemic animals found only in Sulawesi Island. The population is believed to be decreasing every year due to habitat destruction caused by the expansion of agricultural land by people and disturbance from natural predators, as well as threats such as hunting andegg collection by humans. These are the main factors that threaten the survival of Maleo Bird. A survey approach was used that involved direct observation to observe the reality and events that occurred in the field. Direct observation was conducted from 05.00 - 10.00 through a lookout tower at the Maleo Bird nesting site. In addition, an interview method was also conducted to obtain field information directly from the surrounding community who participate in managing the area. Literature study was also used to support the Hungayono Sanctuary's conservation concept in protecting Maleo Bird by maintaining its nesting habitat. The conservation program in Hungayono Sanctuary is to maintain the remaining nesting habitat by building a 'hatchery' or semi-natural hatching tank to help save the Maleo Bird eggs from predators and theft. 'Maleo Foster Parents' which offers tourists to observe the process of maleo birds laying eggs.
