This study explores the extent to which compensation and the work environment affect employee performance within the Secretariat of the Riau Provincial House of Representatives (DPRD). The research population consisted of 193 employees, from which 127 respondents were selected using the Krejcie and Morgan sampling framework. Primary data were obtained through the distribution of structured questionnaires. The dataset was analyzed using a multiple linear regression approach, facilitated by SPSS software. The analytical process encompassed descriptive statistical analysis, instrument validity and reliability testing, classical assumption checks, regression modeling, and hypothesis evaluation through t-tests, F-tests, and determination coefficient analysis. The results demonstrate that both compensation and the work environment exert statistically significant individual effects on employee performance. Furthermore, when assessed jointly, these two variables contribute meaningfully to performance outcomes, as indicated by a coefficient of determination value of 51.8%. This suggests that compensation and work environment collectively explain 51.8% of the variance in employee performance, while the remaining 48.2% is attributable to other factors not included in the scope of this investigation.
