This community service program was carried out in Yoboi Village, Jayapura Regency, to address the community’s dependence on expensive and scarce kerosene and the environmental problems caused by waste cooking oil disposal. The program introduced a simple biodiesel production technology through socialization, training, and mentoring activities involving the local Energy Awareness Group. The results showed that the community was able to produce 10–15 liters of biodiesel per week, with a total of ±60 liters by September 2025. The biodiesel produced was tested and successfully used in household stoves and fishermen’s lamps, showing stable flames and efficient fuel consumption. The program also improved community management capacity, created systematic recording of production, and strengthened local institutions. This initiative contributes to economic savings, environmental protection, and local energy independence, while supporting SDG 7 and SDG 12.
