Glass waste management remains a challenge in many regions, including Aceh Besar District. Since glass does not decompose naturally, it poses a significant environmental threat if not properly handled. At the same time, the demand for eco-friendly building materials continues to rise. This calls for innovative solutions that can transform waste into valuable products. This initiative aims to empower the community of Ajee Pagar Air Village, Ingin Jaya Subdistrict, Aceh Besar, by introducing an innovation that converts glass waste into paving blocks. The program also seeks to enhance residents’ technical skills in waste processing and promote the creation of recycled construction materials. Glass waste is collected from the surrounding area and crushed using a shredding machine to produce artificial sand. This sand is then mixed with cement and water, and molded manually into paving blocks. Training and mentoring are conducted through a participatory approach, involving villagers in every stage of production. The activity has successfully raised community awareness about the importance of waste management and opened up opportunities for environmentally based local enterprises.
