Ekologi Literasi Informasi Di Bawah Kapitalisme Ekstraktif: Pembahasan Kritis Terhadap Narasi Religius Dalam Krisis Lingkungan (Meta-Analisis)

The current environmental crisis is not merely a natural problem, but a reflection of an economic system that places too much emphasis on material gain, to the detriment of the Earth's balance. Ecosystem damage and social conflict demonstrate the human cost that must be borne when the exploitation of nature is prioritised over coexisting with disease. This study aims to examine how human understanding of nature is often limited by exploitative economic interests. Through the perspective of religious information and literacy, this study examines whether spiritual ecological beliefs encourage environmental conservation or are exploited by the capitalist system, thus requiring critical awareness from the public in responding to the crisis. This study utilised a critical literature review of publications published in the last ten years. The initial search yielded 117,683 publications, after which 14 articles were extracted. The results of the study show that environmental crises are closely related to discourse, ideology, and economic-political structures. Ecological information literacy operates within extractive capitalism, which shapes the flow of environmental information. Religious narratives play an ambiguous role, with the potential to raise ecological awareness but also to serve as symbolic legitimisation without critical literacy. Therefore, an integrative approach is needed to encourage a fair and sustainable ecological response.
